Reconnect. Regulate. Rebuild — one stitch at a time.
Trauma-informed fiber arts and mindfulness sessions for individuals, groups, and organizations.
About

I spent 29 years working as a school psychologist — 21 of those years with Region 1 School District, and the rest across a range of public and residential settings. Along the way, I worked closely with children and adults navigating trauma, emotional dysregulation, and the everyday struggle to feel safe in their own bodies.
Out of that experience, an idea took hold: what if the hands could help regulate the nervous system when words alone couldn't reach it? I began weaving together three threads — mindfulness, fiber arts, and neuroscience — into a trauma-informed approach to emotional regulation that I now offer to individuals, groups, and organizations alike.
The premise is simple, but it's backed by real science. Repetitive, rhythmic handwork like weaving, knitting, and spinning engages the body in a way that talk-based approaches often can't. It gives the nervous system something concrete to organize around, offers a grounding anchor in moments of stress or craving, and opens a door to a part of the mind that trauma, anxiety, or addiction can shut down.
My approach is CBT-based and trauma-informed, grounded in decades of real clinical practice. Sessions can start small — a simple frame loom or t-shirt loom that costs almost nothing to make — and build from there as skill and stability grow.
I currently offer this work in a few different ways:
~ One-on-one sessions, in person or online
~ Community groups, for anyone looking to build emotional regulation skills through fiber arts and mindfulness
~Programs for organizations, including schools, residential treatment centers, and recovery programs, tailored to the population being served
Wherever you're starting from, my goal is the same: to help you (or the people you serve) reconnect with a sense of calm and control, one stitch at a time.
