The Power of Intuition

I was born a bit different from a lot of folks. I'm an Empath. This means that I can feel other people's emotions and feelings from a distance. It also means that I am intuitive. When I was a kid, I thought it was normal, but as I got older, I realized it wasn't. I ignored it and by the time I was a few years into college I had crawled into my logical left brain, and I left my intuition to wither.

Fast forward 30 years or so, and I started to feel like a part of me was missing, I just didn't feel whole. It was then that I realized what I had let happen to my intuition and I decided it was time to resuscitate it. I started to study about intuition and did exercises to help strengthen it. During this time, I learned about Danielle MacKinnon, an acclaimed animal communicator. I knew I had to study with her. I have enhanced my intuition and learned how to use it in ways I had never thought possible.

I want to tell you a story about how I used my intuition recently. Since August, I have been suffering from severe indigestion. My indigestion had gotten so bad that I ended up having an endoscopy in December. Everything came back negative, which was great but didn't give me any answers as to what was going on. I was getting no relief from my prescription medication or antacids. I was in agony.

Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. As I was drifting off to sleep, I asked my body to tell me what was going on with it and what I needed to do to heal myself. When I awoke in the morning, I had no answer, so I asked again. I got quiet (the intuitive voice is a soft voice, so one must quiet themselves to hear it). All of a sudden I realized that in August I had stopped using my protein powder in my smoothie and had started using cashew yogurt. I also had a faint recollection of my doctor telling me I was sensitive to cashews as well as a boatload of other foods (part and parcel of being an Empath). I realized it was the yogurt that was causing me agony. Not only did I have indigestion, but I also had joint pain, muscle pain, and stiffness. I could no longer touch the floor without a significant bend in my knees. I used to be able to put my hands flat on the floor, so this was significant.

I have been off of the yogurt for two days, and I feel immensely better. The indigestion is gone, the muscle and joint pain are significantly less, as is the stiffness. I am thrilled beyond belief, and a little bit pissed that I let myself suffer for 7 months before realizing all I had to do was ask myself what was wrong.

I want to make it clear here, that this is something that anyone can do. We are all intuitive. It is part of our nature as human beings. Those gut feelings and hunches you get that is your intuition talking to you. All you have to do is get quiet and listen. Embrace your intuition and claim your gift of knowing.

In Gratitude, Karen
